Overview of the IT Governance Officer Role

Zamil Offshore Services is seeking a full-time IT Governance Officer to join its team in Al Khobar, Eastern Region. This role is integral to establishing and maintaining robust IT governance and cybersecurity alignment within the organization's IT function.

Role Mandate and Contribution

The IT Governance Officer serves as the primary IT point of contact, responsible for the implementation and ongoing support of cybersecurity requirements across the IT function. This position ensures that IT operations adhere to established governance frameworks and international standards, contributing to the overall security posture and operational efficiency of the company.

Core Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and continuously improve the IT Governance Framework, incorporating standards such as ISO 27001, ISO 22301, COBIT, and ITIL.
  • Govern IT policies, procedures, standards, and controls, ensuring alignment with cybersecurity best practices and international standards.
  • Establish and oversee ITIL processes, including change, incident, problem, configuration, asset, and service management.
  • Monitor compliance with governance controls, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), Operational Level Agreements (OLAs), configuration standards, operational procedures, and performance metrics.
  • Ensure proper assessment, approval, documentation, resolution, review, and lessons learned application for all changes and incidents.
  • Maintain accurate IT asset inventories and ensure secure, version-controlled management of IT documentation, configurations, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), architecture, and Disaster Recovery (DR) materials.
  • Oversee Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery requirements based on ISO 22301, including Business Impact Analyses (BIAs), continuity planning, DR documentation, testing, and readiness.
  • Monitor third-party compliance, contractual obligations, SLAs, and business continuity requirements.
  • Coordinate internal and external ISO audits, track findings and corrective actions, and ensure completion of IT-related cybersecurity and risk-treatment actions.
  • Prepare governance dashboards and reports for senior leadership, covering compliance, audit actions, SLA performance, service maturity, risks, and continuity readiness.
  • Collaborate with Cybersecurity, Enterprise Architecture, and IT Operations teams to embed governance and security requirements into projects, changes, and technology implementations.
  • Deliver governance and compliance awareness programs covering ISO requirements, ITIL, change management, service management, and relevant policies.
  • Identify process gaps, operational risks, audit recommendations, and regulatory changes, driving continuous improvements to the IT governance program.

Required Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in IT governance, cybersecurity, or a related field.

Essential Knowledge and Frameworks

A strong understanding and practical experience with the following frameworks and standards are essential for this position:

  • ISO 27001 (Information Security Management)
  • ISO 22301 (Business Continuity Management)
  • COBIT (Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies)
  • ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library)
