About the Role

Wood, a global leader in consulting and engineering for the energy and materials markets, is seeking a TPE IV/Senior Structural Engineer. This full-time position is based in Al-Khobar, Saudi Arabia, and is suited for professionals with substantial experience in engineering design projects within the oil and gas, hydrocarbon refinery, mining, or infrastructure sectors. The role involves contributing to significant projects by leading structural and infrastructure design and development.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee structural and infrastructure works, including building construction and design, equipment foundation design, and pipe and cable tray support design.
• Develop new engineering deliverables and revise existing ones to meet project specifications.
• Review and verify engineering deliverables against company procedures, relevant standards, and checklists to ensure quality and compliance.
• Supervise and mentor junior engineering staff, guiding their technical development.
• Participate in required job-related training to maintain and enhance professional skills.
• Plan and complete assigned work within allocated man-hours, proactively managing schedules.
• Interface and coordinate effectively with the Project Manager and other team members for seamless project execution.
• Delegate and distribute work within the team, managing team billability.
• Coordinate with all relevant disciplines to ensure accurate deliverable preparation and development.
• Conduct site visits to verify site conditions, markup drawings, and perform as-built activities.
• Manage the submission of deliverables, ensuring quality checks are performed and maintaining proper record management.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and project status.
• Apply knowledge of Aramco, Sabic, Royal Commission, SBC, and HCIS standards.
• Conduct technical bid evaluations, review vendor documents, and manage subcontract scopes.

Qualifications and Experience

• A Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, working for a contractor, operator, or consultancy.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in onshore structural engineering and design.
• Previous experience utilizing SACS and other onshore engineering applications.
• Previous experience in the execution of FEED and EPC Projects.

Technical Proficiency

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word, Excel, MATHCAD.
• Experience with Foundation 3D, STAAD, and STADDpro.
• Familiarity with editing, opening, and reading drawings in AutoCAD and Microstation.
• Demonstrated ability in applying industry standards, processes, and procedures.
• Knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
