About the Role

Wood, a global leader in consulting and engineering, is seeking a highly experienced TPE V / Principal Structural Engineer to join its team in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position offers the opportunity to contribute to significant projects within the energy and materials markets, leveraging expertise in structural and infrastructure design.

Role Overview

The Principal Structural Engineer will be responsible for delivering high-quality structural and infrastructure works across various building construction types. This includes building design, equipment foundation design, and pipe and cable tray support design. The role involves originating new engineering deliverables and revising existing ones, ensuring compliance with stringent company procedures, standards, and checklists.

Key Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for structural and infrastructure works, covering building design, equipment foundation design, and pipe and cable tray support design.
• Generate new engineering deliverables and modify existing ones to meet project specifications.
• Review and verify engineering deliverables against company procedures, standards, and checklists for compliance and quality assurance.
• Provide supervision and guidance to junior engineers, supporting their professional development.
• Participate in required job-related training to maintain and enhance technical expertise.
• Plan and execute work within allocated man-hours, proactively managing timelines.
• Coordinate and communicate effectively with the Project Manager and other team members for seamless project execution.
• Delegate work appropriately among team members and manage team billability.
• Liaise with all relevant disciplines to ensure comprehensive deliverable development and integration of interdisciplinary inputs.
• Conduct site visits to assess conditions, mark up drawings, and perform as-built activities.
• Manage the submission of deliverables, ensuring quality checks are performed and records are maintained.
• Prepare technical reports and presentations to communicate findings and project status.
• Apply knowledge of Aramco, Sabic, Royal Commission, SBC, and HCIS standards.
• Perform technical bid evaluations, review vendor documents, and manage subcontract scopes.

Qualifications and Requirements

• A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• A minimum of 15 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, gained from working with a contractor, operator, or consultancy.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience specifically in structural engineering and design.
• Previous experience utilizing SACS software.
• Proven experience in the execution of FEED and EPC Projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with editing, opening, and reading drawings in AutoCAD and Microstation.
• A professional level of ability in applying standards, processes, and procedures in work execution.
• A professional level of knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
