Lead Field Services Engineer

About the Role

GE Vernova is seeking a Lead Field Services Engineer to join their team in Dammam, Eastern region. This full-time role involves performing services and maintenance activities on customer sites, primarily focusing on electrical rotating machines such as synchronous and induction motors and generators, and excitation systems. The position requires 5-10 years of experience in related field services engineering.

Role Context and Scope

The Lead Field Services Engineer is responsible for contributing to, maintaining, repairing, and refurbishing sold or existing GEV Power Conversion & Storage products. This includes all types of maintenance services, such as preventive and remedial, and managing maintenance facilities. The role operates within a well-defined operational framework, following a step-by-step sequence of standard operational tasks to achieve desired results. Accountability for the quality of work performed is a key aspect of this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform on-site installation, commissioning, refurbishment, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrading of synchronous and induction machines, as well as excitation and AVR systems.
• Respond to requests for emergency repairs and services promptly.
• Provide technical instruction and assistance to customer representatives regarding installation, operation, calibration, repair, and maintenance at customer sites.
• Prepare comprehensive and timely technical reports, including job status reports, reports to customers, time sheets, and expense sheets.
• Order necessary materials and secure quotations for services and repairs.
• Provide leadership and technical direction to skilled labor performing work on customer sites.
• Maintain a strong safety mindset, ensuring all executed work adheres to technical requirements and GE safety standards.
• Prepare timely and accurate technical reports for customer records and as a reference for future outages.

Required Experience

• Candidates should possess 5-10 years of experience in field services engineering, specifically with electrical rotating machines and excitation systems.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Dammam, Eastern region, requiring travel to customer sites to perform service and maintenance activities. The role involves direct operational supervision and adherence to prescribed work instructions and systems checking.
