About the Role

Saipem is seeking an Operation Engineer to join their team in Dammam, Eastern region. This full-time role requires 5-10 years of experience and involves supporting project execution, ensuring compliance, and coordinating various operational aspects for offshore projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with QA/QC and HSE requirements.
  • Review project documentation, identify errors or omissions, and propose improvements.
  • Assist in liaising with Client Representatives and subcontractors.
  • Monitor work progress and site conditions, advising promptly on potential changes to the project schedule or execution sequence.
  • Support the Vessel Management Team in planning and executing work, adhering to project contractual and technical requirements.
  • Participate in the resolution of technical problems.
  • Provide operational input and support to onshore project teams.
  • Liaise with Installation and Method Engineers during preparatory, mobilization, and installation phases.
  • Review installation procedures, loadout, and sea fastening plans for offshore transportation of materials and structures to ensure safe and timely installation.
  • Ensure completeness of construction materials and consumables lists, coordinating with the Project Coordinator for timely procurement and delivery.
  • Coordinate with Mobile Equipment, Asset, Piptec, ROV, Trenching, Pre-commissioning, and Hook-up teams to ensure timely availability of personnel and equipment.
  • Witness and inspect pre-rigging, loadouts, and sea fastening activities.
  • Identify and manage deviations from procedures as requested.
  • Coordinate with the Fabrication Department for loadout of fabricated structures and installation aids.
  • Provide input and feedback for the engineering close-out report to improve departmental standards, working methods, and guidelines.
  • Lead project planning efficiency optimization, including installation aids re-use, tensioner pad change-outs, equipment mobilization/demobilization, and ROV tooling consistency.
  • Coordinate general preparation and related interfaces with all relevant departments (engineering, installation engineering, procurement, post-order services, and assets).
  • Follow up on the procurement and logistics of installation aids.
  • Lead subcontracting activities such as survey and positioning, ROV services, NDT, diving, and pre-commissioning.
  • Interface with procurement and fabrication departments for the delivery of incorporated items to the offshore site, including preparation of transportation vessels associated with cargo for the construction vessel.
  • Lead the installation vessel(s) qualification(s) with the client.
  • Lead the installation vessel project HR preparation.
  • Lead the installation vessel equipment preparation.
  • Lead the mobilization and demobilization preparation of the installation vessel.
  • Attend fabrication facilities to ensure readiness for transportation of fabricated items to the site.
  • Coordinate offshore operations on board the installation vessel as the project representative.
  • Review and compile Daily Progress Reports (DPR) of vessel activity and progress during offshore operations.
  • Compile all required information for project close-out and the invoicing process, as per project requirements.

Experience Requirements

Candidates should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in an operational engineering role, preferably within the offshore or marine construction industry.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Dammam, Eastern region, requiring coordination with various internal departments and external stakeholders, including client representatives and subcontractors. The role involves both onshore and offshore responsibilities.
