Senior Coating Advisor

About the Role

Jotun is seeking a Senior Coating Advisor to join their team in Dammam. This full-time position involves providing expert technical advice and on-site support to customers regarding paint application, inspections, and reporting. The Senior Coating Advisor will also be responsible for providing feedback on product performance to the local Technical Service Support team.

Role Purpose and Reporting

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure that coating specifications are met, projects are completed according to contract terms, and customer satisfaction is achieved. The Senior Coating Advisor will also verify the accuracy of information contained in product application guides. This position reports directly to the Technical Services and Support Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect coating activities for various marine and offshore structures, including shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore structures, vessels, and marine tank linings. This includes surface preparation, environmental conditions, application, Dry Film Thickness (DFT), curing, and final coating quality.
• Provide clear instructions to clients and relevant Jotun staff on paint applications, working on-site with client representatives to ensure coating specifications are met and align with customer expectations.
• Independently inspect specific projects assigned by the manager, following Inspection Test Plans and working procedures to ensure product application adheres to specifications.
• Prepare relevant inspection reports and test results by compiling data from inspections to document that specification inspection criteria have been met, including recommendations for corrective actions.
• Carry out paint inspections for specific assigned projects and products/services (*, Tanklinings (Epoxy), SeaLion series, Baltoflake, Chemflake, Inorganic Zinc Silicates, HPS) in accordance with Jotun HSE Policies & Application Procedures.

Required Experience

Candidates for this role should possess 4-5 years of relevant experience in coating application, inspection, and technical advisory roles within the marine or protective coatings industry.
