Job Title: Teacher's Assistant

Location: Idara Center for Child Hospitality

Working Hours: From 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM

The tasks of the classroom assistant generally depend on assisting the teacher in the success of the session and the children's enjoyment of it. It is essential for the classroom assistant to understand that her physical and mental presence is no less important than the classroom teacher's. A spirit of participation and understanding between them is the basis for the success of the session. 

Before the session begins

• Ensure the classroom is ready and welcome children in a tidy and organized environment.

• Prepare corners and educational activities and ensure the availability of necessary tools in the number of children.

• Review the session plan with the teacher and understand the activities and concepts presented to the children.

• Coordinate with the teacher regarding the required needs during the session.

• Ensure the cleanliness and preparation of the bathroom and the availability of its basic supplies.

During the session

• Welcome children, greet them, and help them integrate into activities.

• Support children during play and educational activities and encourage them to tidy up materials after use.

• Interact positively with the teacher and children during circle time and group activities.

• Prepare and distribute various activities, including Quran and art activities, and assist children in carrying them out.

• Assist children during meals and take care of their personal hygiene afterwards.

• Support children in using the bathroom and encourage them to be self-reliant according to their age.

• Contribute to managing and organizing children during story time and group activities.

• Maintain the tidiness and cleanliness of the classroom continuously throughout the day.

• Document activities and learning moments by taking photos according to the center's instructions.

After the session ends

• Return used tools and materials to their designated places.

• Follow up on completing children's work when needed in cooperation with the teacher.

• Cooperate with the teacher in arranging and preparing the classroom for the next group.

• Ensure the availability of needs for upcoming sessions and inform the teacher of any shortage in materials or tools.

• Commitment to wearing appropriate clothing for working with children, which should be modest and comfortable for movement. Short, tight, or revealing clothing (back or chest) is prohibited.

• Ensure adequate rest and nutrition to maintain efficiency throughout the day.

• Full mental and physical presence in the classroom, with constant attention to children and their needs.

• Use positive guidance when dealing with children and reinforce desirable behavior with appropriate words and encouragement.

• Be proactive and capable of handling daily situations and finding appropriate solutions, seeking help when needed.

• Leave personal mobile phones outside the classroom or use them only in necessary situations and according to management instructions, to ensure full focus on the children.

• Adhere to the spirit of cooperation and teamwork with the teacher and the rest of the staff.
