About the Role
Delta Hotels and Resorts® is seeking an Assistant Director of Sales to join our team in Makkah, with responsibilities covering Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time role involves assisting in leading the property’s segmented sales efforts, encompassing group, transient, association, and corporate segments. The successful candidate will support the implementation of segment sales strategies, work towards achieving segment and property revenue goals, and contribute to overall guest and employee satisfaction. This position is suitable for individuals with 0-1 years of experience in a relevant field.
Sales Strategy and Revenue Maximization
- Collaborate with the sales leader to ensure a clear understanding of sales strategy and its effective implementation for the assigned segment.
- Assist in the development, implementation, and sustainment of aggressive solicitation programs focused on increasing business volume.
- Work with the management team to create and implement a comprehensive sales plan addressing revenue targets, customer needs, and market dynamics for the segment.
- Support the development and implementation of both internal and external promotions.
- Provide positive and proactive leadership to ensure maximum revenue potential, including setting an example through personal booking goal achievement.
- Recommend appropriate booking goals for sales team members.
Sales Operations and Data Analysis
- Approve space release for catering to maximize revenue in the absence of a Business Evaluation Manager.
- Participate in sales calls with members of the sales team to acquire new business and finalize existing opportunities.
- Execute and support the operational aspects of booked business, including generating proposals, drafting contracts, and managing customer correspondence.
- Analyze market information using sales systems and implement strategies to achieve the property’s financial room and catering goals.
- Assist Revenue Management in completing accurate six-period projections.
- Review sales and catering guest satisfaction results to identify specific areas for improvement.
Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service
- Display leadership in guest hospitality, exemplify customer service standards, and set a positive example for guest relations.
- Interact with guests to obtain direct feedback on product quality and service levels.
- Meet with guests during pre- and post-convention meetings to gather feedback on the quality of products (*, rooms, meeting facilities, food and beverage), service levels, execution against contract, and overall satisfaction.
- Empower employees to provide excellent customer service and observe service behaviors, providing feedback to individuals and/or managers.
- Incorporate guest satisfaction as a key component of department meetings, with a continuous focus on improvement.
- Ensure that a customer recognition program is effectively implemented throughout the Sales department.
- Execute and support the company’s Customer Service Standards and the property’s Brand Standards.
- Serve customers by understanding their needs and recommending appropriate features and services that best meet and exceed their expectations, fostering a relationship and loyalty to the company.
Building Successful Relationships
- Develop and manage relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Work collaboratively with off-property sales channels (*, Event Booking Center, Market Sales, GSO) to ensure property needs are achieved and sales efforts are complementary.
- Collaborate with Human Resources, Engineering, and Loss Prevention to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and/or union requirements.
- Attend customer events, trade shows, and sales missions to maintain, build, or develop key relationships with GSO Managers and customers.
Qualifications
- A minimum of 0-1 years of experience in sales, hospitality, or a related field.
- Demonstrated ability to achieve personal booking goals and contribute to team revenue objectives.
- Strong understanding of sales strategies, market analysis, and customer relationship management principles.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
