About the Role

Marriott International is seeking an Assistant Outlets Manager to join our team in Jeddah. This full-time position involves assisting in the daily supervision of restaurant operations, including Restaurants/Bars and Room Service where applicable. The role focuses on maintaining operational standards, supporting team members, and enhancing both guest and employee satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

The Assistant Outlets Manager contributes to the overall success of the food and beverage outlets by overseeing various operational aspects. Responsibilities include:

• Assisting with menu planning and ensuring the maintenance of high sanitation standards.
• Supporting servers and hosts on the floor, particularly during peak meal periods and high demand times.
• Recognizing and ensuring the presentation of good quality products.
• Performing duties of restaurant employees and related departments as necessary to support operations.

Operations and Team Management

This role involves active participation in the management of the restaurant team and daily operations to achieve departmental goals. Key tasks include:

• Supervising daily shift operations, including opening and closing procedures.
• Monitoring employees to ensure performance expectations are consistently met.
• Handling employee questions and concerns, providing feedback based on service observations.
• Ensuring all employees have proper supplies, equipment, and uniforms.
• Communicating any issues regarding food quality and service levels to the Chef and Restaurant Manager.
• Ensuring compliance with all restaurant policies, standards, procedures, and local laws regarding alcohol beverage service.
• Managing operations to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.
• Supervising the restaurant and all related areas in the absence of the Director of Restaurants or Restaurant Manager.

Guest Experience and Service Excellence

A core aspect of this role is to ensure exceptional customer service and foster positive guest relations. Responsibilities include:

• Interacting with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
• Handling guest problems and complaints, seeking supervisor assistance when necessary.
• Encouraging employees to provide excellent customer service within established guidelines.
• Setting a positive example for guest relations and striving to continually improve service performance.
• Assisting in the review of comment cards and guest satisfaction results with employees.
• Meeting and greeting guests to ensure a welcoming environment.

Employee Development and Training

The Assistant Outlets Manager plays a role in the development and training of the team to ensure high performance and satisfaction. This includes:

• Determining training needs and implementing plans to achieve departmental goals.
• Supervising ongoing training initiatives and utilizing available on-the-job training tools.
• Communicating performance expectations in accordance with job descriptions for each position.
• Coaching and counseling employees regarding performance on an ongoing basis.
• Participating in department meetings to communicate clear and consistent messages regarding departmental goals.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this full-time position should possess 2-5 years of relevant experience in restaurant or outlets management. The role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills to effectively manage daily operations and foster a positive environment for both guests and employees. The ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solutions is essential, along with providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates through various communication channels.
