About the Role

Marriott International is seeking an AsstMgr-Systems to join our team in Jeddah. This full-time position is central to supporting the property’s Information Resources objectives, encompassing technology planning, decision-making, implementation, and ongoing maintenance. The role requires 2-5 years of relevant experience and serves as a key interface with vendors, owners, and property staff.

Core System Operations and Support

This role involves comprehensive support for the property's technology infrastructure and user needs. Key responsibilities include:

  • Utilizing computer systems, hardware, and software for programming, configuration, data entry, and information processing.
  • Assisting in the acquisition, maintenance, and repair of property-based systems and equipment.
  • Monitoring computer and network operations, ensuring scheduled backup and recovery functions are performed.
  • Maintaining and completing administration functions for hardware, operating systems, and application systems.
  • Managing Information Resources (IR) activities to ensure continuous functionality of property infrastructure and applications.
  • Administering and maintaining mail and email services, alongside managing IT hardware and software assets.
  • Providing Internet support, cable management support, and consultation on specific application or hardware/software issues.
  • Assisting with the introduction of new applications, providing user tips, and communicating system status or problems.

Policy Compliance and Project Oversight

The AsstMgr-Systems is responsible for ensuring adherence to established guidelines and contributing to project success. This includes:

  • Monitoring processes and evaluating information in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Local Standard Operating Procedures (LSOP).
  • Ensuring compliance with Information Resources (IR) policies and standards to safeguard company hardware, software, and other assets.
  • Assessing needs and monitoring compliance with brand-specific technology standards.
  • Assisting in asset management and providing on-site monitoring for various technology projects.

Technical Expertise and Problem Resolution

A core aspect of this role involves applying technical knowledge to resolve issues and provide expert guidance:

  • Staying technically current and applying new knowledge to address work-related issues effectively.
  • Demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of job-relevant issues, products, systems, and processes.
  • Providing technical expertise and support to property staff.
  • Analyzing information, identifying current and potential problems, and proposing viable solutions.
  • Reporting and tracking problems, taking steps to solve them, and keeping system users informed of progress.

Collaboration and Vendor Relations

The AsstMgr-Systems acts as a crucial link between various stakeholders, facilitating smooth operations and effective problem-solving:

  • Serving as an interface with external vendors, property owners, and internal staff.
  • Assisting in vendor management for property IT requirements, functioning as an escalation point for problem resolution.
  • Communicating information effectively to supervisors and co-workers through various channels including telephone, written form, and email.

Experience Requirements

Candidates for the AsstMgr-Systems position should possess 2-5 years of experience in a relevant information technology or systems management role. This full-time role is based in Jeddah.
