About the Executive Chef Role

Shangri-La Hotel in Jeddah is seeking an experienced Executive Chef to oversee the culinary direction of its luxury waterfront property on the Red Sea. This full-time position requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.

Culinary Leadership and Vision

The Executive Chef will be responsible for championing culinary creativity while ensuring consistent quality across all hotel outlets. This includes curating innovative menus and seasonal promotions that align with the Shangri-La brand. A key aspect of the role involves leading large-scale banquet operations with precision and refinement.

Team Development and Operational Excellence

A significant part of the role involves inspiring and developing a high-performing culinary brigade, fostering a culture of teamwork and excellence. The Executive Chef will drive food cost efficiency and productivity, maintaining uncompromising standards. Upholding the highest levels of hygiene, food safety, and sustainability practices is also a core responsibility.

Guest Experience and Engagement

Engaging directly with guests to understand their preferences and continuously elevate the dining experience is essential. This role requires a proactive approach to service and a commitment to exceeding guest expectations through exceptional culinary offerings.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in international luxury hospitality.
  • Proven experience as an Executive Chef or in an equivalent senior culinary leadership role.
  • Strong financial acumen and operational discipline.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and build teams.
  • Creativity, cultural sensitivity, and a genuine passion for guest engagement.
  • Fluent communication in English; proficiency in additional languages is an advantage.

This full-time position is based at the Shangri-La Hotel in Jeddah. The role operates within a luxury hospitality setting, demanding high standards of performance and professionalism.
