Overview of the Role

MENA Consultant is seeking a Saudi National Data Engineer – Cloudera for a 4-month contract engagement. This role is based in Jeddah or Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and focuses on supporting the ongoing operations, monitoring, and maintenance of an existing Cloudera data platform and its associated data pipelines.

Core Responsibilities

The Data Engineer will be responsible for ensuring platform stability, resolving operational issues, and supporting data quality and security. Key responsibilities include:

• Monitoring and supporting the day-to-day operations of the Cloudera data platform and associated data pipelines.
• Tracking batch and real-time job executions to ensure successful processing.
• Investigating operational issues, performing root cause analysis, and implementing corrective actions.
• Maintaining platform availability and ensuring compliance with defined Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Implementing minor enhancements, fixes, and operational improvements to existing data pipelines.
• Monitoring data quality and supporting data validation activities.
• Managing user access requests and supporting data security and governance controls.
• Maintaining operational documentation, runbooks, and support procedures.

Platform Management and Enhancement

This position is central to maintaining reliable, secure, and efficient data platform operations. The Data Engineer will implement enhancements to existing systems and contribute to the overall health and performance of the Cloudera environment.

Team Collaboration and Continuous Improvement

The role requires active collaboration with infrastructure, governance, and other data engineering teams to ensure seamless and reliable platform operations. The Data Engineer will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing platform stability, performance, and operational efficiency.
