About the Role

Saudi Air Navigation Services (SANS) is seeking a Data Privacy Specialist to join their team in Jeddah. This full-time role is crucial for ensuring SANS's compliance with data privacy laws and regulations. The specialist will serve as the primary contact for personal data protection matters and guide the implementation of privacy policies.

Role Purpose

The Data Privacy Specialist is responsible for overseeing all data privacy initiatives within SANS. This includes monitoring data processing activities, providing expert guidance on personal data protection policies, and ensuring adherence to established KPIs, budgets, and procedures related to personal data.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and implement Personal Data Protection policies, procedures, and processes in alignment with national laws and regulations.
• Act as the primary point of contact between SANS and relevant regulatory authorities for personal data privacy complaints and requests.
• Oversee records of all personal data processing activities and coordinate investigations of data breaches.
• Collaborate with the Cybersecurity team on programs that implement controls to isolate, detect, and protect against personal data risks.
• Ensure personal data protection controls are integrated into all SANS third-party contracts and shared with external vendors.
• Review and update contracts, service level agreements, and operation level agreements in accordance with SANS-approved privacy policies and procedures.
• Ensure processes for providing consumers with notices and consents are maintained and adhered to.
• Review and handle data subjects’ requests related to the processing of their personal data.
• Inform, advise, and train the organization and employees on their obligations under personal data protection law requirements.
• Support the launch of awareness programs to promote a culture of privacy and raise awareness of SANS-approved privacy policies and procedures.
• Work with the Data Governance and Compliance Specialist to conduct compliance audits and recommend corrective actions.
• Conduct impact and risk assessments of information systems containing personal data, including collection, processing, storage, and transmittal, whether automated or manual.
• Conduct incident reviews and responses to data breaches, formulating corrective actions in alignment with national regulations.
• Promote effective collaboration and communication with internal team members to ensure cross-departmental alignment.

Policies, Processes, and Procedures

• Conduct day-to-day activities while ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
• Contribute to identifying opportunities for continuous improvement of systems and processes, considering leading practices, changes in the business environment, cost reduction, and productivity enhancement.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in data privacy or a related field. The role requires a strong understanding of national Personal Data Protection laws and regulations.
