Job Description

About the Role

National Water Company is seeking a GIS Specialist to join their team. This full-time position requires 0-1 years of experience and focuses on maintaining and enhancing the company's geospatial data infrastructure for water and wastewater assets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain high spatial accuracy and data integrity for water and wastewater assets using GIS Pro platforms.
  • Ensure alignment with NWC Geospatial Data Standards and Asset Hierarchy Structure.
  • Perform routine Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) checks and data validation processes.
  • Facilitate the registration and digitization of linear infrastructure assets, such as pipelines, valves, and manholes, into Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems.
  • Ensure seamless integration and linkage between GIS data and asset operational databases and customer service systems.
  • Support synchronization between GIS and other enterprise systems.
  • Review and validate spatial data received from capital projects, contractors, and field updates.
  • Ensure compliance with NWC standards, handover requirements, and operational readiness criteria.
  • Coordinate with project teams to resolve data discrepancies.
  • Provide spatial analysis to support risk mapping, accessibility and service coverage studies, network performance insights, and capital investment planning.
  • Deliver maps, dashboards, and analytical outputs to engineering and planning teams.
  • Contribute to NWC digital transformation initiatives by supporting GIS-based decision support systems.
  • Enable improved asset lifecycle management, predictive maintenance, and customer service delivery through geospatial insights.
  • Support the integration of GIS with smart technologies and analytics platforms.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • 0-1 years of experience in a GIS-related role.
  • Proficiency with GIS Pro platforms.
  • Understanding of geospatial data standards and asset hierarchy structures.
  • Familiarity with Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) systems is beneficial.
  • Ability to perform data validation and QA/QC processes.
  • Skills in spatial analysis and data visualization.

Work Type and Environment

This is a full-time position. The role involves working within the National Water Company to support their digital transformation and operational efficiency through advanced geospatial data management and analysis.
