About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a Life Guard to join our team in Makkah, with opportunities also available in Jeddah. This full-time role is crucial for ensuring the safety and well-being of guests within the swimming facilities. The Life Guard is responsible for proactive observation, emergency response, and maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment for all guests, requiring 0-1 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure guest safety in the swimming area by observing for dangerous conditions, unusual activities, or struggling swimmers.
• Utilize appropriate rescue techniques when necessary and provide assistance to injured guests until emergency medical services arrive.
• Promote and enforce the recreation facility's rules and regulations.
• Identify situations where guests may not be able to safely participate in an activity and inform a supervisor or manager.
• Maintain the pool area by obtaining, folding, and stacking towels, as well as washing, mopping, and cleaning the pool deck.
• Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management promptly.

Operational Duties and Guest Service

• Complete all required safety training and certifications.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, maintaining confidentiality of proprietary information and protecting company assets.
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards, anticipating and addressing their service needs, including assisting individuals with disabilities.
• Thank guests with genuine appreciation and foster a fun and relaxing atmosphere.
• Communicate with others using clear and professional language.
• Support all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect.
• Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.

Physical Requirements

• Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines to identify defects.
• Move at a speed required to respond to work situations (*, run, walk, jog).
• Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 50 pounds without assistance.
• Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing in excess of 75 pounds with assistance.
• Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, as well as up and down ladders, stairs, and/or service ramps.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

Qualifications and Experience

• Education: High school diploma or *** equivalent.
• Related Work Experience: 0-1 years of general work experience, with no specific related work experience required for this role.
• Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience required.
