The Role: Network Engineer L1/L2

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer L1/L2 to support and maintain enterprise and data center network infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for the configuration, implementation, monitoring, troubleshooting, maintenance, and optimization of complex network environments. This role requires strong hands-on experience with various networking technologies and collaboration with senior network engineers, infrastructure, and security teams to ensure network services are secure, resilient, highly available, and performant.

Key Responsibilities

• Configure, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise and data center network infrastructure, including Cisco Nexus switches and Cisco ACI (APIC, ANPs, tenants, endpoint groups, bridge domains, contracts).
• Perform network configurations, upgrades, migrations, and infrastructure changes while maintaining network availability, performance, security, and reliability.
• Support hardware installations, replacements, upgrades, and decommissioning, collaborating with infrastructure, server, virtualization, and data center teams.
• Configure and troubleshoot enterprise routing and switching environments, working with BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, static routing, VLANs, trunking, STP, EtherChannel, VRF, ARP, DHCP, DNS, and TCP/IP.
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot DMVPN and enterprise WAN connectivity, including supporting SD-WAN solutions and resolving WAN routing, tunnels, latency, and packet loss issues.
• Support VMware NSX-T and network virtualization environments, troubleshooting virtual networking, overlay networks, and physical-to-virtual connectivity.
• Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Dell and HP network switches, performing configuration, VLAN management, routing, and connectivity troubleshooting.
• Monitor network infrastructure, respond to alerts and incidents, diagnose complex connectivity and performance problems using tools like Wireshark and packet captures.
• Provide technical support for critical production and data center network environments, participating in planned maintenance, upgrades, and incident response.
• Maintain accurate network diagrams, configurations, IP addressing information, and technical documentation, ensuring compliance with security and change management policies.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience as a Network Engineer L1/L2.
• Strong hands-on experience with Cisco ACI, Cisco Nexus, APIC, Application Network Profiles (ANPs), DMVPN, SD-WAN, VMware NSX-T, and enterprise routing and switching.
• Experience supporting critical production and data center environments is highly desirable, particularly within banking or financial services.
