Senior Engineer MEP

About the Role

Parsons Corporation is seeking a Senior Engineer – MEP to join their team in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, covering projects in Jeddah and Makkah. This full-time role focuses on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, with a primary emphasis on HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning). The Senior MEP Engineer will be responsible for developing policies, standards, inspection procedures, and evaluation tools for MEP matters related to judicial branch facilities.

Role Context and Focus

The position involves coordinating activities such as plumbing, fire protection, and electrical engineering as part of project requirements, ensuring compliance with standard and statutory regulations. Experience in stadium or large public venue projects is preferred due to the specialized and complex nature of such facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of MEP systems for projects, ensuring adherence to industry standards, codes, and client specifications.
• Manage MEP aspects of projects from initiation to completion, including budgeting, scheduling, and coordination with other disciplines and stakeholders.
• Review, validate, and approve HVAC system designs, load calculations, equipment selections, and technical submissions.
• Ensure MEP/HVAC design compliance with local codes (*, ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, or local authority regulations).
• Provide technical guidance and expertise in MEP systems design, installation, and operation, resolving complex engineering challenges.
• Ensure the quality and integrity of MEP designs and installations through thorough reviews, inspections, and testing protocols.
• Lead and mentor a team of MEP engineers and designers, fostering professional growth and ensuring high performance standards.
• Collaborate with contractors, vendors, and suppliers for the procurement of MEP equipment and materials, ensuring compliance with specifications and schedules.
• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for clients regarding MEP systems, addressing concerns and providing technical expertise throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, codes, and standards governing MEP systems design, installation, and operation.
• Stay informed of emerging technologies and best practices in MEP engineering, implementing innovative solutions and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in MEP engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in HVAC systems, including design, load calculations, and equipment selection.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards and codes such as ASHRAE, SMACNA, NFPA, and local authority regulations.
• Experience with stadium or large public venue projects is strongly preferred.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Makkah, with responsibilities extending to projects in Jeddah and Makkah. The role involves working within a team environment, collaborating with various stakeholders to deliver complex engineering projects.
