Specialist Microbiology

About the Role

Saudi Airlines Catering Company is seeking a Specialist, Microbiology to join our team in Jeddah. This full-time role is integral to upholding the highest standards of food safety and quality across our operations.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to conduct comprehensive testing of ingredients and finished products, ensuring their correct composition and controlling all factors that may affect food safety. The Specialist will be responsible for identifying any health or quality control issues requiring correction and will participate in the research and development aspects of the job.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory tests to produce reliable and precise data that supports HACCP evaluation and scientific investigations.
• Carry out routine tasks accurately, following strict methodologies for analyses.
• Record and send results after approval from laboratory management.
• Receive, label, prepare, and analyze various samples, including ready-to-eat food, raw materials, and water.
• Design and execute laboratory testing according to standard procedures and ISO 17025 requirements, making detailed observations.
• Conduct experiments under defined conditions to verify or reject various types of hypotheses using refined scientific methods.
• Organize and store all chemical substances, media, and glassware according to safety instructions.
• Record all data and results in specified forms (paper and electronic) with accuracy and responsibility.
• Maintain equipment and assist in ordering laboratory supplies.
• Ensure that all safety guidelines are followed strictly at all times and maintain a clean and orderly environment.
• Prepare all Hygiene Complaints investigation Reports.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this position should possess 0-1 years of relevant experience. A foundational understanding of microbiology principles and laboratory practices is essential to effectively manage the technical responsibilities of this role.

The role requires a strong commitment to applying scientific methodologies, including adherence to HACCP evaluation principles and ISO 17025 requirements for laboratory testing.
