About the Internship

Bupa Arabia is seeking a Trainee - Process Excellence to join our team in Jeddah. This internship offers a foundational opportunity for individuals with 0-1 years of experience to contribute to significant process improvement initiatives within our CareConnect functions.

Role Purpose and Context

The Trainee will assist in implementing process improvement initiatives across all functions of CareConnect. The primary goal is to identify and eliminate service failures that impact patient experience, ensuring alignment with agreed timelines, objectives, and targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Focused Improvement:
  • Collect service failures from various channels, such as Voice of Customer (VOC) and Healthcare Center complaint logs.
  • Develop service loss trees to identify top failures for focused improvement efforts.
  • Facilitate and follow up on Focused Improvement (FI) activities and agendas with cross-functional teams to implement changes.
  • Manage the process of analyzing the root causes of failures with the FI leader and team members, using structured problem-solving methodologies and tools.
  • Identify corresponding countermeasures to eliminate or reduce service failures to a minimum level.
  • Assist and support in conducting regular FI reviews with CareConnect Senior Directors and FI leaders.
  • Propose additional countermeasures to strengthen solutions in addressing problems.
• Medical Quality Control:
  • Conduct regular medical quality audits on selected clinical cases according to defined audit plans and quality standards.
  • Review and validate Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) related to medical functions.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for identified medical quality issues.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to develop corrective actions.
  • Monitor the implementation and effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions to ensure the closure of NCRs.
  • Track and analyze quality indicators.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and healthcare providers to ensure compliance with clinical guidelines, policies, and regulatory standards.
• Process Governance:
  • Carry out process mapping exercises with area owners and document flowcharts using the official process flow template.
  • Conduct process analysis and time & motion studies to identify key areas for process optimization, leading to efficiency and productivity improvement.
  • Identify waste along the process and implement corresponding improvement actions.
  • Measure the impact of process changes before and after improvement, making adjustments as needed.
  • Create process documentation and train staff on new processes with the area owner.
  • Conduct a quarterly review of CareConnect processes with functional leaders.
  • Measure and monitor Turnaround Time (TAT) for processes to identify delays, analyze root causes of inefficiencies, and implement improvement initiatives to optimize process performance.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this internship should possess 0-1 years of professional experience, ideally in a related field or through relevant academic projects. This role is designed to provide practical experience in process excellence methodologies.
