About the Role

Evostel (Previously AQESA) is seeking a Sales Engineer to join our team in Yanbu, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role is crucial for driving profitable sales by providing technical, architectural, and engineering deliverables. The Sales Engineer will identify customer needs and engineer product, equipment, and service adaptations to ensure high customer satisfaction, contributing to new customer acquisition, renewal rates, up-selling, and cross-selling.

Sales Process and Strategy

  • Participate in the entire sales process, including initial discovery, project review, design submission, and component installation.
  • Collaborate with Local Operations Teams to obtain contractor quotes for sales opportunities.
  • Provide alternative solutions to meet unique end-user component and installation criteria.
  • Develop sales and marketing strategies for key vertical market segments.
  • Interface with internal departments to ensure accuracy and timeliness of solution delivery.
  • Develop and implement product and application training programs for the Sales team.
  • Support Sales Executives with solution selling into prospective accounts and partner to plan, prepare, and execute strategic deals in complex sales cycles.
  • Model the financial business case associated with each sales opportunity.
  • Create and deliver presentations and demonstrations that clearly communicate the value proposition.
  • Manage all technical aspects of RFP/RFI responses and collect competitive intelligence.

Quotation and Order Management

  • Maintain the supplier database for securing quotations and mapping products to suppliers for immediate decision-making on RFQs.
  • Evaluate customer requirements from bid packages or RFQs in coordination with Key Account Managers (KAM).
  • Identify commercial documents needed in RFQ (*, Bid bond) and other hidden cost factors for project discussions with stakeholders.
  • Prepare BID packages and communicate with customers and vendors to close technical queries before and after BID.
  • Prepare Letters of Authorization (LOA) for approval, and technical and commercial quotations with all necessary supporting documents for user review and evaluation.
  • Lead the preparation of responses to buyer/user technical queries during the BID evaluation process until technical acceptance.
  • Propose the most suitable product from AQESA stocks and participate in pricing from vendor price lists, web shops, or portals.
  • Collaborate with other AQESA teams (Commercial, Sales, Finance, etc.) for their inputs (payment terms, invoicing, etc.) or documents for readiness before Bid Closing Date (BCD).
  • Review customer orders to ascertain the accuracy of Bill of Materials (BOM), part numbers, scope of supplies/works, payment terms, and other terms and conditions.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of final dossiers (user Manual, drawings, Test Certificates, etc.) to get acceptance of delivered materials/services and help customers close orders for processing AQESA payments.
  • Assist in the preparation of technical submittals, including final dossiers, as per customer standards.

Procurement and Delivery Coordination

  • Float RFQs and hold discussions with suppliers for technical clarification with commercial terms and conditions.
  • Procure materials/services from vendors, plan execution of customer orders, and monitor the progress of AQESA Purchase Orders (POs) with vendors.
  • Finalize vendor POs and ensure acknowledgments are available.
  • Prepare item codes in the system, set terms of delivery, and input POs for end-to-end approval from all stakeholders.
  • Ensure coordination with suppliers for timely delivery and that terms and conditions align with agreed commercial terms.
  • Liaise with finance to meet advance payments and/or issue bank guarantees or Letters of Credit (LCs).
  • Liaise with the logistics team to provide shipping status reports for all standard purchase orders.
  • Lead coordination for fabrication/manufacturing, transportation, and clearance of shipments (if importing).
  • Oversee receiving of ordered materials in the EVOSTEL warehouse, creating delivery documents, transportation of materials to customer facilities, and delivery of invoices.
  • Issue delivery notes, arrange material delivery, and obtain customer receipts and acceptance in coordination with logistics, accounts, and warehouse functions.

Technical Expertise and Client Consultation

  • Provide detailed technical consultations to clients for services such as power system retrofitting, protection system engineering, and switchgear modernization.
  • Lead the design and execution of proposals for complex projects involving power distribution panels, motor control centers, and LV/MV equipment testing.
  • Conduct site inspections to evaluate customer systems, including transformer diagnostics (TTR, winding resistance, and oil sample tests).
  • Drive sales by presenting technical insights into advanced services, such as secondary current injection testing, HiPot services, and parameter settings for protection relays.
  • Collaborate with technology partners to bring state-of-the-art solutions, like LED lighting surveys and obsolete equipment replacements, to Evostel’s clients.

Qualifications and Operational Standards

  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.
  • Ability to recommend improvements to departmental policy and support in the implementation of procedures and controls.
  • Ensure proper implementation and control of group policies and procedures.
  • Ensure data accuracy of item codes, pricing, and delivery dates from customers and suppliers.
