The Role of A/C Technician

As an A/C Technician, you will be responsible for the installation, servicing, and repair of temperature and air quality control systems throughout the hotel. This position requires a hands-on approach to ensure the optimal functioning of all related equipment, contributing directly to guest comfort and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Repair, maintain, and provide technical attention to all electrical and mechanical refrigeration systems, including freezers, fridges, ice makers, fan coil units, and chillers.
• Perform preventive maintenance on all air-conditioning and refrigeration systems within the hotel premises.
• Monitor and assess the performance of refrigeration systems and their components.
• Inspect and verify the functionality of all door closing systems on walk-in coolers and freezers, including gaskets and latches.
• Check and maintain defrosting systems and the automation of ice makers.
• Address and complete maintenance requests from various departments.
• Ensure the routine cleaning of fan coil units and air-handling unit filters.
• Evaluate the performance of air-conditioning and chilled water systems.
• Collaborate with engineering colleagues to detect failures in air-conditioning and refrigeration systems and assist with function setup.
• Implement strict control measures regarding the venting of CFCs into the atmosphere.
• Conduct overhauling of air-conditioning and refrigeration equipment and systems.
• Monitor refrigeration and oil levels and oversee major repairs.
• Coordinate and communicate with the Engineering Storekeeper regarding the purchase of necessary parts.
• Execute all tasks in compliance with country-specific technical regulations and safety standards.

Qualifications and Experience

• A diploma in maintenance of refrigeration systems or building services engineering.
• Previous experience of 0-1 years in a similar role.
• Demonstrated knowledge in the operation and maintenance of relevant equipment.
