About the Role

LEO MEA (Middle East & Africa) is seeking an Arabic Copywriter to join its creative team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is designed for a hands-on copywriter with a talent for storytelling and experience in agency environments. The role involves crafting conceptually driven campaigns and compelling Arabic copy for global brands, contributing to the development of engaging concepts and copy for advertising campaigns. Collaboration with other creative team members is essential to produce communication pieces and campaigns across various mediums, ensuring that campaign messages and goals are effectively conveyed and resonate with the target audience.

The position requires managing projects from initial concept through to final execution. There will also be opportunities to oversee and mentor junior copywriters. The ideal candidate will leverage their experience in client interaction to effectively present and rationalize creative work. This role demands a proactive approach to contributing thought-provoking ideas, skillfully managing multiple projects, prioritizing tasks, and consistently meeting deadlines, while also exploring industry best practices and new creative possibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Write compelling copy, product descriptions, and other textual content, ensuring accuracy through proofreading and content editing.
  • Maintain consistency in all prepared content to align with brand guidelines and campaign objectives.
  • Collaborate with Art Directors to develop innovative creative concepts for marketing materials and comprehensive marketing campaigns.
  • Demonstrate a keen understanding of all channels within the 1:1 marketing space.
  • Utilize data intelligence to effectively address communication challenges and achieve campaign goals.
  • Make strategic and conceptual decisions across a diverse range of clients and industries.
  • Effectively interpret briefs, craft succinct and impactful copy, format copy decks, and accurately translate brand tone of voice and language.
  • Develop and execute strategically sound creative concepts for cross-channel initiatives.
  • Persuasively present creative work internally and to clients with credibility, clear reasoning, and emotional connection.
  • Actively listen to understand project requirements, client feedback, and internal team input.
  • Ensure all communications are produced to the highest standards of accuracy and quality control.
  • Deliver fresh ideas and inject personality while working within established brand voice and tone guidelines.
  • Conceptualize and write a wide range of content, from white paper ideas and scripts to in-store signage and social media posts.
  • Research competitors and industry trends to provide insights and creative foresight.
  • Partner with creative colleagues to ensure the idea, copy, and design form a cohesive and compelling story.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in concept creation, with a clear understanding of the distinction between a communication concept and an execution idea.
  • Demonstrated mastery in developing copy for large-scale cross-channel and direct-marketing initiatives across various media, both online and offline.
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in an appropriate field of study.
  • The personality and interpersonal skills necessary to develop strong client relationships and lead creative presentations effectively.
  • Strong conceptualization and strategic thinking abilities.
  • Energy, a sense of humor, and an open and curious mindset.
  • Exceptional conceptual and design skills, supported by a robust portfolio that highlights talent across multiple mediums.
  • A knack for strategic brainstorming, campaign development, creative brief development, and creative execution.
