About the ES&H Advisor Role

Bechtel Corporation is seeking an ES&H Advisor to support the Ar Rjum Project, located approximately 200 km north-east of Taif. This full-time, office/project-based role is designated for Saudi Nationals and focuses on implementing Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) management programs, systems, and processes. The position provides technical oversight to ensure the successful control of risks to people, property, and the environment.

Project Context

The Ar Rjum Project is a greenfield gold project situated in the Central Arabian Gold Region. The project encompasses three open pit mining operations, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and associated supporting infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate various Environmental, Safety, and Health (ES&H) disciplines to facilitate the implementation of Bechtel's ES&H program and Management System, ensuring compliance with standards, regulatory requirements, and contractual commitments.
• Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs, systems, and procedures for employee safety and health, and for the protection of the environment and communities.
• Maintain ES&H databases, including incident events, audit/assessment findings, and corrective actions.
• Perform statistical analysis of ES&H data to identify performance trends and contributing factors, making recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Identify and coordinate the use of specific software systems and electronic innovations by ES&H personnel.
• Lead teams in conducting risk assessments, studies, mitigation planning, and monitoring in response to ES&H issues.
• Prepare communications, write reports, and develop documents for program execution and records retention.
• Coordinate incident notifications, lead investigations, and prepare incident investigation reports.
• Recommend and implement process, procedure, and work activity improvements to minimize hazard potential.
• Participate in and potentially lead employee training, emergency preparedness, and quality assurance programs.
• Coordinate ES&H recognition programs.
• Research moderately complex issues and provide regulatory interpretation and technical advice.
• Provide support to ES&H field and office personnel across all ES&H disciplines.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor degree or higher in an ES&H discipline.
• 5-10 years of relevant ES&H experience.
• Experience in influencing at a leadership level.
• 6-8 years of ES&H experience in the industrial construction or heavy engineering industry.
• 2+ years of experience directly supervising a team of 3 to 4 ES&H professionals, or 2+ years of ES&H experience in a complex work environment.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Knowledge of Five-star ES&H management systems.

• High level of written and verbal communication skills.

Work Location and Type

This is a full-time position based in an office/project environment. The project is located near Taif.
