About the Opportunity

Danone is seeking a Healthcare Nutrition Specialist for a full-time position based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This role is integral to the Specialized Nutrition Middle East division, focusing on driving brand market share and building strong, scientific-based relationships with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) in the assigned region, which includes Taif and Makkah.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to influence HCP attitudes and behaviors, positioning Danone's Healthcare Nutrition solutions as preferred choices. The specialist will be responsible for ensuring HCP satisfaction and loyalty by effectively meeting their healthcare nutrition needs through scientific engagement and comprehensive support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct periodical visits to HCPs in hospitals, health clinics, private clinics, and private hospitals to establish and maintain strong scientific relationships.
  • Position Danone's Healthcare Nutrition solutions as preferred options and the company as a first choice for HCPs through scientific argumentation.
  • Ensure all doctors, HCPs, and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) receive accurate messages, information, and clinical studies, illustrating the benefits of Danone's solutions.
  • Organize and conduct scientific audio/visual meetings, seminars, and detailing nutrition education activities for HCPs.
  • Identify business opportunities within the assigned area, evaluate learnings, and develop initiatives and tactics to realize potential.
  • Implement the weekly call cycle in coordination with the direct manager and respond to competitive activities with recommended counter-actions.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge to explain all product information and handouts, and address HCP inquiries.
  • Follow up on customer queries and complaints, and review the business plan quarterly with the Head of KSA.
  • Compile and submit reports on promotional activities according to established formats and schedules.
  • Ensure all business practices conform to WHO and local government codes of ethics for infant formula products.
  • Manage daily databases and ensure compliance with administrative procedures and processes.
  • Achieve qualitative and quantitative Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for the respective area on daily, monthly, and yearly bases.
  • Participate in daily and/or weekly meetings to discuss market situations, challenges, and appraise activities against monthly KPIs.
  • Collect intelligence on the HCP universe, identify new contacts, and monitor competitor activities, reporting findings to management.
  • Conduct medical detailing face-to-face calls and maintain ongoing contact with identified HCPs across the defined geographical area.
  • Build strong relationships with targeted HCPs, map decision-making networks, and carry out promotional activities.
  • Record and report call visits and progress against set objectives, attending internal meetings as required.

Candidate Profile

  • A minimum of 2-5 years of relevant experience, preferably in medical representation or healthcare nutrition.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong, scientific-based relationships with Healthcare Professionals.
  • Strong understanding of market dynamics, competitive activities, and business development.
  • Commitment to ethical practices and compliance with WHO and local government codes.
