About the Role
Al Salama Hospital is seeking an experienced Integration Engineer to join its Information and Communication Technology (ICT) team. This full-time position is based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and focuses on designing, building, and maintaining critical data exchange systems within the hospital environment.
Role Context and Purpose
The Integration Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring secure and reliable data exchange across various hospital systems and medical devices. This involves working with HL7 and Mirth Connect integrations to support seamless operations and uphold compliance with MOH and JCI/CBAHI standards, contributing directly to patient care and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain HL7 interfaces and Mirth Connect channels to facilitate robust data flow between systems.
- Integrate various medical devices, including those from laboratory, radiology, and patient monitoring systems, with core hospital information systems.
- Monitor existing interfaces, troubleshoot issues, and resolve any data exchange problems promptly to ensure continuous operation.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all integration processes, configurations, and changes.
- Provide support for system upgrades and go-live events, ensuring smooth transitions and minimal disruption to hospital services.
Required Experience and Qualifications
Candidates for this role should possess 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant integration engineering capacity, preferably within a healthcare setting. Strong proficiency in HL7 standards and practical experience with Mirth Connect are essential. A solid understanding of integrating medical devices and hospital information systems is also required to effectively manage complex data environments.
Work Environment and Standards
The Integration Engineer will operate as part of Al Salama Hospital's dedicated ICT team, contributing to a robust and compliant healthcare technology infrastructure. Adherence to national and international healthcare standards, including those set by the Ministry of Health (MOH) and JCI/CBAHI, is fundamental to this role, ensuring data integrity and patient safety.
