About the Role: Laboratory Assistant

Maarif Education is seeking a dedicated Laboratory Assistant to join its team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves providing essential support for laboratory sessions and classes, ensuring a high-quality, hands-on educational experience for students.

Key Contributions to Education

As a vital member of the education team, the Laboratory Assistant works under the guidance of subject teachers to facilitate practical lessons in chemistry, physics, and biology. A primary focus of this position is to maintain a safe learning environment, proactively addressing any safety concerns that may arise during lab activities.

Responsibilities

• Set up equipment, chemicals, and supplies for chemistry, physics, and biology laboratories as guided by teachers.
• Assist subject teachers directly in the delivery of practical lessons.
• Prepare all necessary materials to ensure effective and safe laboratory sessions.
• Oversee the laboratory during classes, ensuring strict adherence to safety measures and policies.
• Maintain a comprehensive inventory of all lab items and materials, reporting any required supplies promptly.
• Educate students on the safe and correct utilization of laboratory equipment and materials.
• Ensure the safe custody and optimal use of lab equipment, arranging for its regular servicing and maintenance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Science or an equivalent field.
• 2-5 years of relevant experience in a laboratory or educational support setting.
