About the Loss Prevention Specialist Role

Amazon is seeking a detail-oriented and hands-on Loss Prevention Specialist to join our operations network. This full-time role is based in Makkah, Saudi Arabia, with responsibilities covering Jeddah and Makkah. As a key member of the Security and Loss Prevention (SLP) team, you will be instrumental in delivering security services to protect our people, assets, and operational continuity across the supply chain.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Security and Loss Prevention Specialist plays a vital role in safeguarding Amazon's operations. You will contribute to the resilience of business operations by supporting emergency and crisis planning for assigned sites. A core part of your role involves identifying vulnerabilities, including potential loss, associate experience issues, and process improvement opportunities, and defining appropriate mitigating actions while ensuring adherence to legal and ethical standards.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for security-related matters, coordinating risk management measures with local management and external parties such as law enforcement agencies and industry associations.
  • Ensure that assigned sites comply with Amazon's global security standards.
  • Conduct regular physical security audits and investigate policy violations, security incidents, and loss events.
  • Collect and analyze information through system monitoring, data reporting, and interviews to identify process vulnerabilities.
  • Contribute to the development of mitigating measures for identified vulnerabilities.
  • Maintain the physical integrity of sites by auditing and monitoring system health and functionality.
  • Interact with external security service providers to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Act as a subject matter expert and point of contact for internal and external departments on Security and Loss Prevention matters.
  • Deliver loss prevention education and awareness programs and liaise with stakeholders on policy and procedure across all management levels.

Team and Organizational Context

This role is part of the Global Security Operations organization. The Security and Loss Prevention team supports Amazon's business objectives and brand reputation by mitigating threats and managing risks that could jeopardize associates and customers, disrupt operations, damage assets, or negatively impact brand reputation. The team works collaboratively to secure the Amazon supply chain end-to-end, proactively preventing risks, intervening in incidents to minimize impact, and thoroughly investigating incidents to identify and remove root causes.

Basic Qualifications

Candidates for this position should possess the following basic qualifications:

  • Relevant security- or risk-related education or experience, such as in security services, asset protection, loss prevention, risk management, inventory management, investigations, supply chain, auditing, or compliance.
  • Experience working with the MS Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) in a professional setting.
  • Advanced proficiency in written and verbal Arabic.
  • Upper intermediate proficiency in written and verbal English.

Preferred Qualifications

While not mandatory, the following qualifications are considered advantageous:

  • A relevant degree, degree equivalent, or industry certification.
  • Experience with physical security systems, investigation techniques, and/or management of contract security officers.
  • Experience in retail, warehouse, distribution center services, delivery services, or supply chain environments.
  • Experience working with data.
  • A valid driver's license.
