About the RF Engineer Role

SAIC is seeking an experienced RF Engineer to provide essential installation and integration support for C4I System racks and components for the Royal Saudi Naval Forces (RSNF). This full-time position requires a professional with 5-10 years of experience in RF systems and a strong understanding of system communications verification. The role involves working within the Technical Support Center to ensure the seamless integration of systems into RSNF vessels, command centers, and training facilities.

Key Responsibilities

The RF Engineer will be responsible for a range of technical duties, including:

• Performing RF cabling, terminations, and operational testing during system installations.
• Managing engineering documentation changes, including updates to hardware configuration control items (HCCI), system drawings, bill of materials, cable run sheets, and serial number lists.
• Conducting Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) surveys both before and after installations to establish baselines and identify any changes, preparing detailed summary reports with findings and recommendations.
• Collaborating with engineering on system design, software installation, and operational testing, providing solutions for areas requiring improvement.
• Preparing test cables and project segments during project downtime.
• Reviewing RF quality issues, reporting findings, and updating documentation to reflect approved corrective actions.
• Maintaining, repairing, and performing functional communication circuit checks for various Radio systems (UHF, VHF, HF, VSAT, UHF SATCOM, LINK-11/16) on both ashore and afloat RSNF platforms.
• Utilizing specialized test equipment and software-controlled diagnostics for malfunction isolation.
• Executing repairs according to technical orders, manufacturer handbooks, and local procedures, including component-level troubleshooting and ESD handling.
• Performing equipment modifications and installations in accordance with engineering change plans.
• Conducting RF and Fiber optic cable termination and testing.

Technical Problem Solving

This role requires the ability to provide technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems, necessitating the evaluation of identifiable factors through data analysis. The RF Engineer will frequently engage in inter-organizational and outside customer contacts, representing the organization in providing solutions to complex technical issues associated with specific projects.

Required Experience and Skills

Candidates must demonstrate experience in the following areas:

• Supporting the analysis and evaluation of Radio Frequency (RF) systems.
• Conducting EMI surveys and preparing summary reports.
• System design, software installation, and equipment operational testing.
• Maintenance and repair of various Radio systems.
• Component-level troubleshooting and ESD handling.
• Soldering using a 3M workstation or portable soldering iron.
• RF and Fiber optic cable termination and testing.

Work Locations and Type

This full-time position is based in Jeddah, Riyadh, or Al Jubail. The role requires a commitment to supporting the RSNF's C4I systems.
