The Sales Engineer Role

Saint-Gobain GCC is seeking a dedicated Sales Engineer to join its team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves managing a customer portfolio, promoting technical solutions, and achieving sales targets within the construction and industrial sectors. The Sales Engineer will play a crucial role in strengthening the Saint-Gobain brand and contributing to business growth in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Achieve defined VAP sales volumes in line with company policy and budget.
• Prospect, regularly visit, and foster loyalty with a diverse portfolio of customers, including construction companies, applicators, developers, and homebuilders.
• Promote Saint-Gobain solutions by clearly explaining all technical aspects of products within the range.
• Develop both the customer mix (small, large, medium accounts) and product mix (Internal/External/Finishing Plasters).
• Enhance and reinforce the Saint-Gobain brand within the assigned operational sector.
• Prepare weekly and monthly sales forecasts in collaboration with the Sales Manager.
• Visit customers and prospects to accurately assess their current and future demands and requirements.
• Collaborate closely with the Plant/Operations team, requesting support as necessary.
• Acknowledge and quote tenders for all customers promptly and before deadlines.
• Negotiate prices, volumes, extras, and services, effectively managing challenging negotiation scenarios.
• Oversee jobsite progress through to completion, particularly for supply and apply projects.
• Manage the assigned customer portfolio, including self-analysis of sales performance.
• Monitor developments in related industries that may impact business performance and track competitor sales volumes and prices in the region.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience in sales, preferably within the construction, materials, or industrial sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to manage customer relationships and achieve sales targets.
• Technical understanding to effectively promote complex product solutions.
