Saudi German Health is seeking a highly qualified medical professional to join its team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position offers an opportunity to contribute to a leading healthcare institution within the region.

The Role: Section Head, Anatomical Pathology (MD Consultant)

We are recruiting a Section Head of Anatomical Pathology to provide clinical leadership, ensure diagnostic excellence, and oversee quality standards within the Anatomical Pathology section. The successful candidate will be an MD Consultant responsible for aligning practices with CAP and CBAHI accreditation standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert histopathology and cytopathology diagnoses.
  • Report surgical pathology, biopsies, cytology, and frozen sections.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings.
  • Ensure diagnostic accuracy and compliance with turnaround time (TAT) metrics.
  • Lead and manage the Anatomical Pathology section staff, including supervision of pathologists, technologists, and trainees.
  • Develop and implement policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and workflows.
  • Monitor performance indicators such as TAT, Quality Control (QC) metrics, and workload.
  • Ensure full compliance with CAP and CBAHI accreditation standards.
  • Oversee quality management systems (QMS).
  • Lead internal audits, external proficiency testing, and inspections.
  • Manage incident reporting and implement corrective/preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Provide training and mentorship to staff and residents.
  • Lead continuing medical education (CME) activities.
  • Promote research and evidence-based practices within the section.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A valid SCFHS Consultant classification/license is required.
  • Over 10 years of experience in Anatomical Pathology.
  • Experience in a CAP-accredited laboratory is highly preferred.

Candidates will be assessed based on the following:

  • Professional qualifications and board certification.
  • Extent and depth of diagnostic experience.
  • Leadership experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Knowledge and involvement in accreditation and quality systems.
  • Research, publications, and academic contributions.
  • Interview performance, including case discussion.
  • References and previous performance evaluations.

This is a full-time position based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. The role involves working within a professional healthcare environment dedicated to maintaining high standards of patient care and diagnostic accuracy.
