About the Senior Cloud Administrator Role

Batterjee Medical College is seeking a Senior Cloud Administrator to manage, optimize, and secure its cloud infrastructure, primarily within Microsoft Azure. This full-time position is based in Makkah, with responsibilities extending to operations in Jeddah and Makkah. The role requires a deep understanding of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS solutions to ensure the high availability, security, and performance of cloud-based services. The successful candidate will collaborate with various teams to design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud solutions aligned with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and optimize Azure cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage, networking, and databases.
  • Manage Microsoft 365 platforms, including users, groups, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • Oversee the deployment and management of SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS services, ensuring seamless integration and efficient resource utilization.
  • Implement cloud security best practices, monitor for threats, and ensure compliance with standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, NCA, and PDPL.
  • Manage identity and access through Microsoft Entra ID, role-based access control (RBAC), and multi-factor authentication (MFA).
  • Develop and maintain cloud backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans.
  • Utilize Azure Monitor and Log Analytics for system health tracking, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
  • Implement automation using tools like PowerShell, Terraform, or ARM templates to enhance efficiency.
  • Manage virtual networks, VPNs, ExpressRoute, load balancers, and firewalls for secure connectivity.
  • Ensure regular patching and updating of cloud infrastructure.
  • Monitor cloud usage and implement strategies for cost optimization.
  • Collaborate with IT, development, and security teams, providing guidance and support on cloud best practices.
  • Maintain technical documentation and provide training to IT staff on Azure cloud operations.

Required Qualifications and Experience

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305), or Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500) are preferred.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in cloud administration, with a significant focus on Azure services.
  • Proficiency in managing Azure resources, including virtual machines, containers, Kubernetes, storage, and networking.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud security principles, identity management, encryption, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with automation tools, particularly PowerShell scripting.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based database services, such as Azure SQL.
  • Experience with Windows servers, Linux, Active Directory, and Group Policy.

Work Environment and Location

This is a full-time position located in Makkah, with operational responsibilities covering Jeddah and Makkah. The role involves close collaboration with internal IT teams to ensure the effective operation of the college's cloud infrastructure.
