Senior DNS Administrator Role Overview

Avensys Consulting is seeking a Senior DNS Administrator to join our team on a contract basis in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This role involves managing enterprise DNS services, with a focus on Active Directory-integrated DNS, zones, records, forwarders, and conditional forwarders within Windows Server environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and maintain DNS services across enterprise Windows Server environments.
• Manage DNS zones, A/AAAA, CNAME, MX, PTR, TXT records, and other DNS record types.
• Configure and maintain Primary/Secondary DNS, Forwarders, Conditional Forwarders, and Stub Zones.
• Manage Active Directory-integrated DNS, including DNS replication and integration with AD services.
• Troubleshoot DNS resolution, connectivity, propagation, and performance issues.
• Monitor DNS health, availability, and performance, and proactively identify potential issues.
• Support DNS changes, migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure projects while adhering to change-management procedures.
• Collaborate with network, systems, security, and application teams to resolve DNS-related incidents.
• Maintain DNS documentation, configuration standards, and operational procedures.
• Ensure DNS infrastructure complies with security and availability best practices.

Required Experience and Skills

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in DNS administration.
• Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server DNS and Active Directory.
• Good knowledge of TCP/IP, DHCP, networking, and IP addressing.
• Experience with DNS troubleshooting tools and commands such as nslookup, dig, and PowerShell.
• Knowledge of DNS security, DNSSEC, access control, and secure DNS configuration is considered an advantage.
• Experience working in enterprise production and 24x7 support environments.
