About Salla and the Role

Salla is a platform supporting over 100,000 merchants in running their businesses. We are seeking a Senior Lifecycle Marketing Manager to join our team in Jeddah or Makkah. This full-time role is central to defining and executing the end-to-end journey of our merchants, from their initial discovery of Salla through to their growth and retention on the platform.

Role Context and Strategic Impact

This position involves both strategy and hands-on execution, owning the entire merchant lifecycle. The role benefits from access to rich behavioral data from signup to sale, direct communication channels, and the mandate to build and optimize the system. The core objective is to transform merchant data into personalized, high-converting journeys that activate, retain, and foster growth for every store on the platform. This role drives impact across three key domains:

• Lifecycle Strategy and Architecture, including stage definitions, segmentation, behavioral triggers, and the consolidated journey map.
• Hands-On Execution and Experimentation, encompassing campaign building, disciplined testing, and outcomes tied to activation, retention, and customer lifetime value.
• AI-Forward Personalization at Scale, utilizing AI-assisted content and workflow systems to maintain lean operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and manage the complete merchant lifecycle, covering acquisition, onboarding, activation, growth, retention, and win-back phases.
• Define segmentation, establish cohorts, and set behavioral triggers to advance merchants and minimize drop-off.
• Develop and deploy campaigns across multiple channels, including email, WhatsApp, push notifications, and in-app messaging.
• Implement a rigorous experimentation roadmap with controlled tests, holdout groups, and success metrics focused on activation, retention, and customer lifetime value.
• Create dynamic, personalized content and integrate it across various tools and data sources to ensure timely and relevant messaging.
• Scale content and personalization efforts through AI-assisted workflows, aiming for low operational dependency.
• Maintain a consolidated, coherent, and continuously optimized system, owning the overall merchant journey map.
• Report on stage-conversion and retention outcomes, supported by a live experimentation backlog.

Required Experience and Expertise

• Proven experience of 5-10 years in owning a customer or merchant lifecycle end-to-end, demonstrating tangible results in both strategy and execution.
• Deep understanding of lifecycle marketing concepts, including segmentation, cohorting, stage design, triggers, retention, churn, and customer lifetime value.
• Hands-on campaign execution experience within a major lifecycle or customer-relationship platform such as Intercom or Braze, with technical proficiency to manage triggers, flows, dynamic content, and API-based data connections independently.

Essential Skills and Attributes

• A demonstrated experimentation mindset, including the ability to test, measure, optimize, and make data-driven decisions to discontinue ideas.
• Experience in building dynamic content systems that integrate multiple data sources into a unified journey.
• Active engagement with AI in lifecycle marketing, with a clear perspective on its value and limitations.
• Experience working at or closely with a Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company, preferably within the Middle East, coupled with genuine empathy for merchants and small businesses.
• Full working proficiency in both Arabic and English, capable of writing, reviewing, and shipping Arabic campaign copy that reads natively.

Location and Work Type

This is a full-time position. Candidates must be based in or willing to relocate to Jeddah or Makkah to fulfill the requirements of the role.
