About the Role
Amazon is seeking an Area Manager, Fulfillment Center Operations to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves leading a large and diverse team within an operational site to ensure business operations keep pace with demand. The role offers hands-on experience in the complexities of a global business's operations, focusing on driving productivity and ensuring seamless execution.
Role Overview
The Area Manager will be based at one of Amazon's operational sites, working shifts to maintain safety standards for their team and across the site, while also monitoring and maintaining process efficiency. Daily responsibilities include prioritizing routine team management and operational tasks, alongside addressing individual escalations, contributing to process improvement initiatives, and participating in wide-scale operational contingency planning. This position requires collaboration with colleagues across various teams and external partners to meet customer demands and targets. This involves analyzing data and performance metrics with business leaders, as well as discussing the operational implications of technical improvements with engineers.
Key Responsibilities
- Promote a culture of safety and wellbeing within the team and operational environment.
- Analyze operational data and implement corrective actions to ensure consistent high levels of quality and productivity, meeting business objectives across all shifts.
- Support and lead a team, managing administrative tasks and fostering a strong team culture.
- Analyze performance metrics and suggest process improvements to optimize work and enhance customer service.
- Collaborate with other managers to standardize shift processes and operational procedures.
Work Schedule and Environment
This role is based at an Amazon operational site and requires the ability to work a flexible schedule, including various shifts and work areas. This encompasses availability for weekends, nights, and/or holidays as operational demands necessitate.
Basic Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in employee and performance management.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent, OR 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques.
Requirements
- Requires 5-10 Years experience
