About the Area Manager Role

Amazon is seeking an Area Manager to join its operations team in Riyadh. This full-time role offers the opportunity to gain experience leading a diverse team and understanding the complexities of global operations. The Area Manager will be responsible for ensuring their area of the business keeps pace with demand and operates seamlessly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote a culture of safety and wellbeing within the team and across the site.
  • Analyze and implement corrective actions to ensure consistently high levels of quality and productivity, meeting business objectives across all shifts.
  • Support and lead a team, handling administrative tasks while building and fostering a strong team culture.
  • Analyze performance data and suggest process improvements to optimize work and enhance customer service.
  • Collaborate with other managers to standardize shift processes.

A Day in the Life

This role involves working shifts at an operational site in Riyadh. The primary focus will be on maintaining safety standards and monitoring process efficiency. Daily tasks include routine team management, operational duties, addressing individual escalations, engaging in process improvement work, and operational contingency planning. Collaboration with colleagues and external partners is essential to meet customer demands and targets. This includes analyzing performance metrics with business leaders and discussing operational aspects of technical improvements with engineers.

Basic Qualifications

  • 1+ years of employee and performance management experience.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift/work area, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.
  • Capability to push and pull wheeled dollies loaded with products up to 100 pounds during shifts.
  • English-language communication skills, both written and verbal.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 1+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques.
