About the Role

Tiara Catering is seeking an Assistant Director of Catering Sales to support the Director in managing the catering sales department. This full-time position, based in Riyadh, focuses on achieving revenue goals and maintaining high service standards within the department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Director in supervising the sales team, providing guidance on lead conversion, contract negotiation, and upselling.
  • Oversee daily operations of the sales team, ensuring precision in all sales processes from inquiry to execution.
  • Review Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and contracts for accuracy before distribution to operations and culinary teams.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all departmental Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Manage a portfolio of high-value corporate and social clients, focusing on engagement and retention.
  • Compile weekly and monthly sales reports for the Director and analyze performance data to identify pipeline gaps and suggest strategy adjustments.
  • Act as a liaison between the sales department and kitchen/operations teams, leading weekly team briefings.
  • Identify areas for improvement in sales workflows and lead the implementation of new systems or digital tools.
  • Mentor junior staff and take the lead on special projects to enhance department efficiency.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management, Business Administration, or a related field. A minimum of 5-10 years of progressive experience in catering or event sales is required, with at least 1-2 years in a senior or team lead capacity.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Advanced Negotiation Skills: Proven ability to close complex contracts and manage client negotiations.
  • Leadership Capabilities: Demonstrated experience in training team members and managing performance.
  • Financial Acumen: Strong understanding of P&L impact, catering margins, and revenue forecasting.
  • Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of CRM software and MS Office; experience with hospitality systems is essential.
  • Adaptability: Ability to assume the Director’s responsibilities as needed and handle escalations calmly.

Work Environment

This is a full-time role requiring flexibility to work during events, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. The position demands a balance between high-level management duties and an active on-the-floor presence during significant events.
