About the Role

Mace, a company combining construction expertise with consultancy, is seeking an Associate Director – Electrical Engineering for a significant project in a remote area of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is key to delivering a major entertainment and luxury hospitality project that involves extensive infrastructure and built assets. The position requires collaboration with architects and consultants, utilizing a hands-on construction management approach for main and subcontract packages. This opportunity involves leading the delivery of major infrastructure and MEP systems across a large-scale remote program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of major infrastructure MEP systems, including power, district cooling, water, and utilities, from the design phase through to commissioning and final handover.
  • Oversee the complete MEP lifecycle, encompassing program management, health, safety, and welfare (HSW), quality assurance, commissioning processes, and project close-out procedures.
  • Provide technical and commercial leadership throughout the tendering, procurement, and contract delivery phases.
  • Manage and direct design reviews, ensuring compliance with engineering standards, effective coordination, and alignment with project objectives.
  • Drive the development and implementation of project planning and delivery strategies, including detailed sequencing, logistics management, and commissioning approaches such as Integrated System Testing (IST), Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP), and Soft Landings.
  • Lead stakeholder engagement, influencing clients, consultants, contractors, and senior leadership.
  • Manage and develop multi-disciplinary MEP teams, promoting high performance and ensuring the achievement of key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Collaborate towards the common goal of a net-zero carbon transition, taking shared responsibility for the proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions during work delivery.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering, or an equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in delivering large-scale MEP and infrastructure projects within complex environments.
  • Hold the necessary visa criteria for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
  • Relevant work experience on high-valued projects/programmes for a project management consultancy business, which is a requirement for immigration and client approval.

Required Skills and Expertise

  • Extensive expertise in Electrical Engineering and MEP Systems.
  • Proven experience in Infrastructure project delivery.
  • Strong capabilities in Design Management and Commissioning.
  • Demonstrated success in full Project Lifecycle Delivery.
  • Advanced understanding of Programme Planning, Sequencing, and Critical Path Management.
  • Effective Stakeholder Engagement and Team Management skills.
  • Commitment to Net Zero Carbon Transition principles.
  • Technical proficiency across Electrical, Mechanical, and Public Health systems.
  • Experience with Integrated Systems, including BMS, SCADA, and FLS.

Work Location and Details

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. The role requires over 10 years of experience. Mace is open to discussing part-time, flexible, and hybrid working options if suitable within the role.
