About the Role

Bechtel Corporation is seeking a BIM Coordinator to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position will play a key role in implementing Building Information Modeling (BIM) processes to support the delivery of a major airport development project. The role requires 5-10 years of experience in a BIM capacity.

Project Context

Bechtel has a long history in airport development and is providing project management consultancy services for the expansion of King Salman International Airport in Riyadh. This ambitious project aims to significantly increase passenger and cargo capacity by 2030 and 2050, including the development of three new terminals. The BIM Coordinator will be instrumental in ensuring the successful integration and management of BIM data throughout this complex undertaking.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement BIM processes to support project delivery, reporting to the BIM/GIS Manager.
• Manage BIM/CAD model coordination, ensuring compliance with the Project BIM Management Plan.
• Oversee 4D/5D processes and foster an innovative culture within the project.
• Ensure coordination of BIM activities, including coordinate systems, standard templates, and clash management, among design subcontractors.
• Provide BIM production support, maintain the Common Data Environment (CDE), and manage model federation and interference detection.
• Conduct quality checks of deliverables (3D/2D) and generate deliverables to satisfy project BIM uses.
• Develop, communicate, and institutionalize standardized BIM workflows for project stakeholders.
• Develop and enhance standard processes for BIM/3D model health checks.
• Maintain project Exchange Information Requirements for the supply chain.
• Train project delivery teams on the CDE and associated BIM workflows.
• Develop workflows for interoperability between BIM/CAD and GIS.
• Assess the implementation of the BEP and compliance with the project execution strategy, capturing lessons learned.
• Provide operational support to BIM coordinators at third-party firms.
• Participate in off-project functional BIM team activities for knowledge sharing and development.
• Develop processes to integrate BIM/3D models with schedules for 4D simulations.
• Develop processes to integrate BIM/3D models with Quantity Take-Off templates for progress tracking.
• Ensure project compliance with information requirements and industry standards, including ISO 19650.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) or relevant work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a BIM role.
• Experience working with multi-disciplinary teams in a project delivery environment.

Required Skills and Knowledge

• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey BIM/CIM and technology solutions to engineering and construction professionals.
• Facilitation of meetings and client-facing presentations.
• Ability to capture lessons learned and manage the implementation of improved workflows.
• Experience in the creation and maintenance of federated models.
• Proficiency in single and multi-discipline design coordination.
• Experience performing clash and coordination detection and reporting on model coordination issues.
• Ability to conduct model audits and liaise with client representatives.
• Support for design and construction reviews, including managing issue/action logs.
• Willingness to visit job sites to facilitate BIM discussions and execution.
• Experience creating standard processes for model-based design quantity take-offs.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The role involves working within a project delivery environment, collaborating with various teams and external consultants.
