About Aon and the Business Development Manager Role

Role Purpose and Strategic Focus

The primary objective of this role is to promote Aon Saudi Arabia in the marketplace, aligning with the firm’s vision, values, and commercial strategy. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving sustainable business growth and profitability within the Central Region. This involves actively acquiring new client relationships and developing existing ones to expand Aon’s footprint and increase sales volume in Riyadh.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead business development initiatives in the Central Region, collaborating with Riyadh branch colleagues and wider Aon teams to achieve growth and profitability targets.
  • Establish, develop, and maintain strong client relationships to expand Aon’s market presence.
  • Develop and execute a strategic business and sales plan for the assigned territory, including clear targets, activity plans, and performance metrics.
  • Build and manage a robust pipeline of prospects, qualify opportunities, and drive the full sales cycle from lead identification to closing.
  • Conduct regular internal meetings to set goals, review performance, and align priorities with the Head of Business Development and relevant stakeholders.
  • Prepare and submit accurate and timely monthly sales and pipeline reports using company systems.
  • Research client and market needs, including emerging sectors such as e-commerce and digital businesses, to identify opportunities for new solutions and enhancements.
  • Gather, analyze, and communicate client feedback to inform service delivery improvements and product innovation.
  • Identify and pursue leads through existing customer networks, industry events, and market intelligence; negotiate terms and placements in line with Aon’s commercial guidelines.
  • Monitor competitor activities, regulatory developments, and broader market trends in the Central Region to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Create and implement effective action plans for lead generation, prospecting, and campaigns, coordinating with Marketing as appropriate.
  • Coordinate and execute local marketing initiatives, seminars, and client events to support the business development strategy.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and up-to-date records of sales activities, opportunities, and client interactions within the CRM system.
  • Prepare and deliver compelling client presentations and proposals; support proposal development, RFP/RFQ responses, and contract renewals.
  • Uphold and promote adherence to Aon policies, procedures, compliance requirements, and ethical standards in all interactions.
  • Coordinate closely with the Riyadh Branch Manager and service teams to ensure seamless client onboarding, handover, and ongoing service delivery.

Candidate Profile and Requirements

Candidates for this position should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in business development, sales, or a related field, preferably within professional services. The role requires a proven track record in client relationship management, strategic sales planning, and pipeline development. Strong analytical skills for market research and client feedback analysis are essential, alongside the ability to prepare and deliver professional presentations and proposals. Adherence to ethical standards and compliance requirements is paramount.
