Role Summary

The Business Development Manager will be responsible for cultivating relationships with new clients and strengthening engagement with existing ones. This involves understanding client development strategies and aspirations to strategically present Havelock One's capabilities for future projects. The role requires establishing a robust network with work providers, including designers and consultants, to develop a pipeline of new business across all operational sectors, with a strategic focus on enhancing commercial office fit-out opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

• Prospect for potential new clients and translate these efforts into increased business, including marketing strategy, communications, new market investigation, and overseeing marketing and account strategy.
• Research and build relationships with new clients and identify new projects within selective sectors.
• Utilize internal and external tools to compile project opportunity pipelines and establish action plans for each opportunity based on agreed targets with management.
• Collaborate with the projects team to develop proposals that address client needs, concerns, and objectives.
• Arrange meetings between client decision-makers and the company’s Directors or Principals.
• Address objections by clarifying points, emphasizing agreements, and resolving differences to achieve positive outcomes, employing various persuasive and negotiation styles.
• Present a professional image consistent with that of the client.

Client Development and Market Strategy

This position requires a thorough knowledge of the market, the solutions and services Havelock One Interiors provides, and the company’s competitive advantage. Strategic planning for future development and an established relationship network are essential for this role. Key activities include:

• Building and enhancing new client relationships.
• Arranging and participating in internal and external client debriefs.
• Attending industry functions, such as association events and conferences, and providing feedback and information on market and creative trends.
• Researching and developing a thorough understanding of the company’s personnel and capabilities.
• Understanding the company’s goals and purpose to continuously enhance its performance.

This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience in a relevant business development role.
