About the Role

Albawani is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to join their team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience and involves supporting the delivery of civil and infrastructure works, including roads, pavements, utilities, and external works. The role focuses on coordinating, reviewing, and implementing design and construction activities on site, working under the guidance of the Civil and Structural Design / Technical Manager.

Role Purpose and Context

The Senior Civil Engineer will contribute to shop drawing reviews, site inspections, and technical coordination to ensure that works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements. This primarily site-focused role supports day-to-day construction activities and resolves technical issues. The engineer is expected to contribute to basic drafting, detailing, and preparation of sketches or redline drawings for temporary works, utility diversions, road adjustments, and coordination fixes, providing timely and practical solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day civil engineering support on site, addressing construction queries, RFIs, and technical clarifications.
• Review civil and infrastructure works to verify compliance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Identify site issues, discrepancies, or non-conformances and report them to senior team members.
• Coordinate civil activities with architectural, structural, MEPF, and temporary works to avoid clashes.
• Support inspections, testing, and quality checks for civil and infrastructure works.
• Prepare and update sketches, mark-ups, and simple civil drawings/details to support construction activities.
• Assist in producing redline drawings and as-built markups based on actual site conditions.
• Provide hands-on drafting support (AutoCAD/Revit/Civil 3D as applicable) to resolve site issues efficiently.
• Review civil shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements under supervision, ensuring compliance with design intent and authority requirements.
• Assist in preparing responses to RFIs, Technical Queries (TQs), and site clarifications.
• Coordinate with site engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers on civil and infrastructure matters.
• Interface with other disciplines for coordinated delivery and attend coordination meetings.

Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in civil engineering roles.
• Experience in design and build infrastructure and construction projects.
• Proficiency in civil works, including roads, pavements, drainage, utilities, and external works.
• Demonstrated ability in multidisciplinary coordination across design and construction phases.

Required Skills

• Strong technical understanding of civil engineering principles and construction practices.
