About the Role

Airbus Defence and Space is seeking a Civil Engineering Technician (Trainee) to join their team in Riyadh. This is a contract position focused on supporting civil works construction and oversight for projects located along Saudi Arabian Border locations. The role involves ensuring construction activities align with design specifications, quality standards, and contractual obligations.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, monitor, and supervise ongoing Civil Works construction, including new buildings and towers, carried out by the Consortium Partner "AL-Rashid Trading & Contracting CO." (RTCC).
• Review Civil Works Design Drawings and verify that field construction aligns with 'Testing and Commissioning', 'Quality Assurance (QA)', and approved design drawings.
• Attend Request for Inspection (RFI's) in collaboration with stakeholders, the Consortium Partner (RTCC) Site Engineers, and their sub-contractors.
• Follow the systematic construction process for all building types and towers from site inception to civil works acceptance and handover.
• Oversee the construction of the "Civil Works Interface" related to the Airbus System for minor and major infrastructure.
• Produce and submit daily progress reports (DPR's) to Back Office Engineers.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports of work progress.
• Attend RFI's and Material Inspection Reports (MIR), and witness tests on site.
• Liaise with office and site staff for technical assistance and support for design drawings, specifications, and standards.
• Monitor testing and inspection records and reports.
• Maintain a request for information log and post RFI responses on record drawings.
• Distribute new drawings, changes, approved submittals, RFI responses, and other project information to affected parties.
• Monitor safety inspection and accident logs and reports.

Technical Responsibilities

• Review "To Build Drawings" for execution, installation, and testing & commissioning.
• Raise issues for any deviation or change to relevant stakeholders.
• Participate in all types of testing & commissioning as per contractual obligations.
• Conduct As-built verification.
• Harmonize with the customer for site inspections.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Civil Engineering Diploma or Equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of Civil Construction.
• Experience in Construction Standards and Principles.
• Fully versed with Kingdom of Saudi Arabia 'Building Code' Standards and Norms.
• Sound understanding of Civil Works Building and Construction, Foundations, New Buildings, Equipment and Telecommunication Rooms, Towers, and Refurbishments of Buildings.
• Full understanding of Site Construction Build Documentation and Auto-Cad Design Drawings.
• Competent in On Site Health and Safety Requirements.
• Computer literate, with a good understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point & MS Project).
• Experience in working in complex large project environments and in a team.
• Ability to work with highly confidential information.
• Adherence to Company on-site Health and Safety requirements.
