About the Commis 1 Role at SEVEN
Saudi Entertainment Ventures (SEVEN) is seeking a Commis 1 to join its team in Riyadh. SEVEN is dedicated to establishing itself as a leader in Saudi Arabia's entertainment ecosystem, fostering both international and local brands, and aims to be the national champion for entertainment. This role supports the company's mission to enhance the quality of life for Saudi nationals and residents by contributing to the development of numerous entertainment projects planned over the next eight years.
Role Purpose and Contribution
The Commis 1 will assist and support more experienced chefs within a restaurant kitchen environment. This position offers an opportunity to learn and develop culinary skills under the guidance of senior kitchen staff. Key aspects of the role include ensuring adherence to food safety and hygiene standards, and maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of food items, following established recipes and kitchen standards.
- Perform basic cooking techniques, such as chopping, sautéing, boiling, and grilling, under the supervision of senior chefs.
- Utilize fundamental cooking methods and knife skills for ingredient preparation and dish execution.
- Maintain high standards of food quality and presentation to meet guest expectations.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain the cleanliness of kitchen work areas, utensils, and equipment according to HACCP standards.
- Support the receiving and storage of goods, ensuring compliance with Goods Receiving Mandates and Food Handlers Certification requirements.
- Follow Back of House Standard Operating Procedures (BOH SOPs) to ensure safe and compliant kitchen operations.
- Assist in organizing and cleaning kitchen stations and storage areas, monitoring stock levels, and informing the Sous Chef of replenishment needs.
- Properly handle and store kitchen tools and equipment, reporting any malfunctions or maintenance requirements to the Sous Chef.
- Support the implementation of chemical safety practices and adherence to Facilities Management (FM) Mandates.
- Contribute to delivering a positive guest experience through the preparation of food items that meet quality standards.
- Assist in addressing guest feedback related to food preparation or presentation in coordination with senior chefs.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Food Handlers certification.
- HACCP intermediate certification is preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a similar kitchen or culinary role.
- Ability to multitask effectively in high-pressure environments.
- Basic proficiency in English, both spoken and written.

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh. The role operates within a dynamic restaurant kitchen environment, requiring collaboration with a culinary team.
