About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh is seeking a Consultant in Anesthesiology. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience and involves providing comprehensive medical care within the Anesthesiology department.

Clinical Responsibilities

The Consultant will be responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions in the field of Anesthesiology, adhering to hospital bylaws, policies, and procedures. Key duties include:

• Providing high-quality patient care in all aspects of Anesthesiology, consistent with approved clinical privileges.
• Responding to inpatient and emergency room consultation requests in a timely manner as per hospital policy.
• Ensuring the timely completion, accuracy, and legibility of medical records.
• Providing on-call services, maintaining availability and response times within prescribed hospital guidelines.
• Conducting daily morning rounds to identify patients ready for transfer or discharge, ensuring orders are written 24 hours in advance.
• Performing other assigned clinical duties related to the specialty.

Academic and Research Contributions

The role involves contributing to the department's academic and research endeavors. This includes:

• Providing orientation, bedside training, and supervision to junior staff.
• Participating in departmental educational activities, training programs, and national/international medical conferences.
• Maintaining and enhancing professional knowledge through continuing education.
• Participating in clinical, basic, and translational research projects to advance knowledge and improve postgraduate education, aligning with the Research Advisory Council Policy.

Administrative Duties

The Consultant will undertake administrative responsibilities as assigned by the Head of Section or Chairman. This encompasses:

• Assisting the department in developing and implementing practices to optimize resource utilization.
• Participating in mandatory departmental activities and serving on departmental and hospital committees.
• Adhering to current hospital and medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations, and staying updated on any changes.
• Following all hospital-related policies and procedures.
• Participating in self-and others’ education, training, and development as applicable.
• Performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates are expected to possess the following:

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in Anesthesiology.
• Proficiency in the diagnosis and treatment of medical diseases and conditions within the Anesthesiology specialty.
• Adherence to current medical staff bylaws, rules, regulations, and hospital policies and procedures.
