About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre is seeking a Consultant in Plastic Surgery to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position involves providing high-quality patient care, contributing to medical education, and participating in research activities within the field of Plastic Surgery.

Clinical Responsibilities

The Consultant will be responsible for the diagnosis and treatment of plastic disease and pathologies, adhering to hospital bylaws and procedures. Key duties include:

  • Admitting and managing patients with Plastic Surgery conditions, ensuring comprehensive care.
  • Providing patient care in accordance with approved clinical privileges and KFSH&RC standards.
  • Obtaining informed consent, clearly explaining risks, benefits, and alternative treatments to patients.
  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure timely and appropriate medical care and consultations.
  • Adhering to all hospital policies and procedures related to patient admission, care, and discharge.
  • Assessing patient conditions to determine therapeutic modalities and ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Conducting ward rounds, reassessing inpatients, and preparing patients for procedures or surgery.
  • Participating in on-call schedules as required by the Head of Section.

Academic and Research Contributions

This role involves significant contributions to the academic and research environment. Responsibilities include:

  • Teaching and supervising junior medical staff, residents, and fellows in Plastic Surgery patient management.
  • Staying abreast of the latest techniques and developments in Plastic Surgery and implementing them.
  • Actively participating in departmental education and training programs.
  • Attending and presenting at regional, national, or international medical conferences annually.
  • Participating in clinical, basic, and translational research projects and publishing papers to advance knowledge.

Administrative Duties

The Consultant will undertake administrative tasks as assigned by the Head of Section or Chairman of the Department. This includes:

  • Participating in mandatory departmental activities and serving on committees as required.
  • Assisting in the development and implementation of practices to optimize departmental resource utilization.
  • Adhering to and staying updated with hospital and medical staff bylaws, rules, and regulations.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates are expected to possess the following:

  • A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in Plastic Surgery.
  • Relevant medical qualifications and licensure.
  • Demonstrated ability to provide high-quality patient care and contribute to medical education and research.
