About the Role

Hays is seeking a Digital Channels Solutions Architect for a 12-month contract position. This is a hands-on, individual contributor role focused exclusively on the design and architecture of digital channel solutions across web, mobile, and self-service platforms. The role requires a deep understanding of architectural principles for frontend, backend, APIs, integrations, and relevant cloud platforms, ensuring that designed solutions are implementation-ready for delivery teams. There are no software development or coding responsibilities associated with this position.

Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end digital channel architectures, encompassing frontend, backend, integrations, and cloud components.
• Produce High-Level Designs (HLDs), detailed solution diagrams, interface contracts, and integration views.
• Translate business requirements into implementable solution designs, acting as a non-developer architect.
• Ensure alignment and consistency across frontend platforms, backend services, API layers, and cloud services.
• Design and review API-based integrations, including REST, SOAP, and event-driven architectures.
• Address and incorporate non-functional requirements such as performance, scalability, availability, and security into architectural designs.
• Review vendor-provided designs and offer constructive architectural feedback.
• Actively participate in design review meetings and maintain comprehensive architecture documentation.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Proven solution architecture experience specifically for web and mobile digital channels.
• Solid architectural understanding of both frontend and backend technologies.
• Strong knowledge of APIs, various integration patterns, and service-based architectures.
• Demonstrated architectural exposure to cloud-based digital platforms.
• Excellent documentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders.
• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience working within large or complex enterprise environments is considered an advantage.
