About the Role

The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, * is seeking a Dir Finance & Accounting for a contract position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, covering the Riyadh and Ad Dir'iyah areas. This role functions as the property’s strategic financial business leader, responsible for championing, developing, and implementing property-wide strategies to deliver products and services that meet or exceed brand expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to improve profit, including cost/benefit analysis and exploring new business opportunities.
  • Analyze financial data, forecast sales against expenses, and create annual budget plans.
  • Monitor actual sales against projected sales and analyze variances in budget wages for efficient planning.
  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive annual business plan aligned with company and brand strategy.
  • Provide ongoing analytical support by monitoring operating department sales and producing accurate forecasts.
  • Implement and maintain appropriate controls to manage business risks and ensure a strong accounting and operational control environment.
  • Oversee internal, external, and regulatory audit processes.
  • Advise the General Manager and executive committee on existing and evolving operating/financial issues.
  • Manage property working capital and cash flow in accordance with brand SOPs and owner requirements.
  • Ensure accurate documentation of Profits and Losses and timely submission of reports.
  • Ensure compliance with management contracts, reporting requirements, and standard operating procedures (SOPs and LSOPs).

Leadership and Team Management

  • Lead, influence, and encourage teams through strong interpersonal and communication skills, advocating sound financial decision-making.
  • Communicate strategic goals, focus, and owner priorities clearly to subordinates.
  • Provide leadership by assigning clear accountability and appropriate authority to team members and other department managers.
  • Conduct annual performance appraisals with direct reports according to Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Ensure team members are cross-trained and receive appropriate new hire training and development plans.
  • Participate in hiring activities as appropriate and ensure property policies are administered fairly and consistently.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Attend meetings and communicate with owners to understand priorities and strategic focus.
  • Understand and meet the needs of key stakeholders, including owners, corporate, and guests.
  • Communicate financial concepts clearly and persuasively to drive desired behaviors.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of cash flow and owner priorities.
  • Facilitate critique meetings to review information with the management team.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated financial expertise to enable successful implementation of brand service strategy and initiatives.
  • Ability to think creatively and practically to develop, execute, and implement new business plans.
  • Strong analytical skills to identify underlying principles, reasons, or facts from data.
