Role Overview: Director Destination Marketing AMAALA

The Director of Destination Marketing for AMAALA will lead the development and execution of marketing strategies designed to increase destination visibility, attract target tourist segments, and support economic growth. This position also involves overseeing the execution of production projects, ensuring alignment between creative marketing and operational delivery. The objective is to ensure production deliverables meet brand goals, market demands, and stakeholder expectations. The role emphasizes measurable results, campaign optimization, and improving ROI to drive visitation to the destination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the destination’s marketing strategy, focusing on performance marketing and alignment with business and tourism objectives.
  • Set KPIs and performance targets for marketing initiatives, ensuring alignment with revenue, brand positioning, and visitor engagement.
  • Lead cross-functional destination marketing teams and coordinate with internal stakeholders to implement integrated marketing campaigns.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of targeted digital marketing campaigns, including paid media, influencer marketing, and social media, with an emphasis on data analysis and ROI tracking.
  • Optimize campaigns based on performance insights, A/B testing, and audience segmentation.
  • Utilize customer data, market insights, and analytics tools to ensure marketing investments contribute to measurable growth in tourism traffic and revenue.
  • Ensure consistent messaging and positioning of the destination's brand across all channels.
  • Innovate and enhance destination marketing programs to maintain competitiveness.
  • Collaborate with local stakeholders to ensure a unified marketing approach and highlight unique selling points.
  • Cultivate and manage relationships with key tourism partners, local businesses, and external agencies.
  • Establish collaborative programs with national and international tourism bodies, airlines, and digital platforms.
  • Review and analyze campaign performance, consumer behavior, and market trends to adjust strategies.
  • Provide regular reports and presentations on marketing performance, campaign effectiveness, and ROI to senior leadership.
  • Manage the marketing budget to maximize campaign impact and cost efficiency.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing marketing team.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in marketing, with substantial expertise in the travel and tourism sector.
  • At least 15 years of experience in team leadership, including managing teams and agency relationships.
  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful evergreen marketing strategies.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with marketing analytics tools.
  • Background in brand management, content strategy, and integrated marketing communications.
  • Proven track record of leading performance-driven marketing campaigns, particularly in tourism or destination management.
  • Strong background in digital marketing, including SEO, SEM, social media, email marketing, and paid media.
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders and tourism boards.
  • Ability to contribute to the development of brand measurement tools and metrics.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, requiring collaboration with internal departments, external agencies, and local stakeholders.
