About the Role

Qiddiya Investment Company is seeking an experienced Director - Health & Safety to lead and drive the health, safety, and environmental (HSE) strategy for one of Qiddiya's largest precincts. This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Riyadh Province, and requires a minimum of 10 years of experience. In this leadership role, you will oversee the development and execution of robust health and safety programs to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and promote a safe working environment throughout the entire construction lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

As the Director, you will collaborate closely with project teams, contractors, and stakeholders to implement best practices and foster a culture of safety and accountability. Your expertise will be crucial in managing risk, reducing incidents, and safeguarding the wellbeing of all employees and contractors. Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading the formulation and implementation of the health and safety strategy.
  • Developing, maintaining, and enforcing health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines tailored to large-scale construction projects.
  • Conducting comprehensive risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards and implement effective mitigation measures.
  • Managing incident investigations, root cause analysis, and ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions.
  • Overseeing health and safety training initiatives and promoting continuous awareness across all levels of the construction workforce.
  • Ensuring compliance with local, national, and international health and safety regulations and standards.
  • Collaborating with project management, contractors, and external agencies to integrate health and safety considerations into all construction phases.
  • Monitoring health and safety performance metrics and preparing detailed reports for executive management.
  • Advocating for a proactive safety culture and continuous improvement in health and safety practices.
  • Staying informed of emerging trends, technologies, and regulations related to construction health and safety.

Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in health and safety management within complex construction environments. Required qualifications include:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in health and safety management within large-scale construction programs.
  • A proven track record of successfully leading HSE programs and initiatives in complex construction settings.
  • Strong knowledge of local and international health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Professional certification such as NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP, or equivalent is highly desirable.
