About the Supplier Quality Engineer Role
alfanar Group is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer to join their team in Riyadh. This full-time position focuses on ensuring that sourced components and assemblies for MV switchgear products meet required quality standards through comprehensive supplier quality management.
Key Responsibilities
The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for managing supplier quality activities to reduce non-conformances and defect rates. This includes:
- Developing and maintaining Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) documentation for critical components and assemblies, coordinating submissions with suppliers.
- Applying Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and PPAP processes for electrical components and assemblies, and validating supplier control plans, material verification, and process capability studies.
- Verifying the compliance of parts and processes with customer requirements and IEC standards, and managing new product development quality from a quality perspective.
- Monitoring and reducing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) and Parts Per Million (PPM) levels through structured problem-solving and preventive measures, including conducting weekly supplier meetings to review NCR closures.
- Ensuring the proper implementation of the 8D methodology for root cause analysis and corrective actions, and tracking corrective and preventive actions for supplier-related issues.
- Performing supplier audits and assessments for approval and ongoing compliance, and driving continuous improvement initiatives using 7 QC tools.
- Preparing dashboards, reports, and presentations using MS Excel and PowerPoint for management reviews and ensuring readiness for customer and third-party audits.
General Duties and Compliance
In addition to specific quality functions, the role requires:
- Maintaining and updating soft and technical skills relevant to the job.
- Performing planned activities to meet operational and development targets within delivery schedules, utilizing resources effectively for cost and time efficiency.
- Solving related problems and escalating complex operational issues.
- Ensuring quality requirements are met for products, processes, and related activities.
- Coordinating well-defined systems, policies, and procedures, and identifying automation opportunities.
- Complying with related policies, procedures, and work instructions.
- Ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental management procedures within the defined work area.
Travel Requirements
This role involves local and international travel for supplier visits, audits, and quality improvement projects.
